About Us
Elite Team

Our Elite dancers receive training in jazz, lyrical, contemporary, ballet, hip-hop, acrobatics, musical theater, and tap, as well as conditioning, technique, and a performance concentration within classes, private lessons, and group settings. The team encompasses dancers from a large age range (age 10-young adult). Have you graduated from your previous studio and miss dancing? We love being a part of a dancer's journey at any age.

Elite Team Policies and Requirements:

Dress Code

We ask that attire is fitted in order to properly see and correct placement. Permitted attire includes leotards, sports bras, tank tops, fitted t-shirts, fitted dance shorts, leggings, dance pants, etc. We work primarily in tan turning shoes, tan jazz shoes, and barefoot. Other shoes are not required unless specified by the choreographer. We ask all hair to please be secured back and out of the face.

Requirements

As a member of our Elite Team, participation in 2 regional competitions (1 optional), 1 national competition, 1 annual convention (1 optional), our Annual DDW Showcase, and 1 community event is required. We require our dancers to take a weekly ballet and jazz class at the studio of their choice to maintain their spot on the team. We also require attendance at 4 in-house technique classes a month.

Attendance

Being a member of a competitive team means additional performance opportunities and responsibilities. Therefore, attendance is crucial. We allow 2 excused and 2 unexcused absences per semester. Repetitive absences without planned accommodations will be met with consequences and make-up rehearsals with choreographers. If dancers are not to meet their monthly requirement for technique classes, they are required to attend a make-up class during the last week of the month. Private lessons for additional choreography and skill work are optional but not required.

Mini Team

Our mini team is open to children ages 5 to 9. We are passionate about balancing structure and fun while also fostering a creative and uplifting environment for our minis. We know our young dancers love to try a little bit of everything. Therefore, we strive to provide focused, condensed training to allow time for whatever else they may wish.

In order to be a member of our mini team, dancers must participate in 2 regional competitions, a convention, and our Annual DDW Showcase. We ask our minis take a weekly ballet class or what is applicable for their age at the studio of their choosing and attend as many of our in-house mini acro and dance technique classes a month as they can.
